Mr. Del Coco began his career in the Fire Control Development Laboratories at Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was responsible for the development of electro-optical based fire control systems for all of the Army’s major weapon systems including the M60 and Abrams main battle tanks and the Cobra, Cheyenne, and Apache attack helicopters.
 
After transferring to Picatinny Arsenal in 1977, Mr. Del Coco led the Combat Vehicle Team of the Fire Control Division ultimately taking responsibility for the Battlefield Management Branch with system development responsibility for all major fire control development including Armor, Artillery, Mortar, Aviation, Air Defense, and Small Arms systems.  During his tenure in the Fire Control Division, Mr. Del Coco has also earned the distinction of being an internationally recognized expert in Fire Control system development due, in large part, to the numerous requests from foreign governments for his assistance in development of off-shore systems.  He has provided expert advice to England, France, Germany, Korea, the Republic of Taiwan, to name a few.
 
After 25 years in the development, production and fielding of Fire Control Systems, Mr. Del Coco was selected as the first Deputy Project Manager for the Advanced Field Artillery System (AFAS) in May, 1991.  He was instrumental in the consolidation of the Advanced Field Artillery System and the Future Armored Resupply Vehicle (FARV) programs and their transition to the Crusader System.
 
After an extended temporary assignment to Washington, DC, Mr. Del Coco returned to Picatinny as the Chief of the Advanced Systems Concepts Office where he lead a team of engineers and scientists in the conceptualization of new systems in support of our future war-fighting requirements.
 
Mr. Del Coco served as the Performance Area Technical lead during the Source Selection Evaluation Board for the Interim Brigade Combat Team vehicle procurement, and he also served as a Senior Advisor to the Director, ARDEC through an Interagency Personnel Agreement (IPA).  In this capacity, he led the ARDEC efforts in industrial/governmental partnering and cooperative programs and managed the Homeland Defense/Security programs at the ARDEC. Mr. Del Coco also served as a consultant to the Fire Control Division of ARDEC, developing strategic relationships and programs with Congressional Districts as well as the DOD, state and local governments, industry, and academia.
