Colonel (Ret) J. Bruce Hulick USMC (Ret) has decades of experience as a career Marine officer and senior executive in the private sector. He is a proven leader in multiple disciplines that include the aviation, homeland security, and training/education sectors.
Colonel Hulick served with ground and aviation units in the Marine Corps. He commanded an Aviation Combat Element, F/A-18 Hornet Squadron, and a Marine Corps Air Station. He served on the Joint Staff and was appointed to a four-member team that helped draft the inaugural Quadrennial Defense Review. As Chief of Training Programs Branch, Colonel Hulick developed and implemented training and education programs for the Marine Corps. The agenda encompassed over 200 professional skill sets and education opportunities, JROTC through Ph.D. programs. He established procedures to improve operations and security at an airport and residential area for over 14,000 people, 110 aircraft, and over $4.5B in physical plants/assets. At his last assignment, as a member of the faculties of the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University, Colonel Hulick taught leadership, ethics, and history. Most recently, Colonel Hulick was the Vice-President of a commercial real estate company where his responsibilities included strategic planning, budgeting, and operations.
Colonel Hulick possesses a wide array of experience in various disciplines with many years of successfully meeting high level management and security challenges. He demonstrates strong organizational and communications skills and has developed a global perspective based on his assignments abroad. His extensive working knowledge of strategic planning, policy-making, and military operations enable him to provide problem-solving methodologies, access the decision maker, and reach the most effective/efficient solution.
Colonel Hulick’s military decorations and awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (gold stars), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and several others. Other awards include a citation for distinguished service form the US Congress, a citation for distinguished service to the state from the Governor of South Carolina, and the South Carolina Meritorious Service Medal from the State Militia.
