Commander John Ondik, Supply Corps, United States Navy (Reserve Component), is assigned as the Staff Operations and Plans/Readiness Officer for Operations Logistics Readiness unit 106, Washington DC, where he provides consulting assistance to Navy senior leadership.

Commander Ondik’s active duty military career of almost 10 years included tours as Supply Officer in USS MOOSBRUGGER (DD-980) (where he was the Navy’s first non-pilot ever to be nominated to be a helicopter Landing Safety Officer) and as a Defense Logistics Agency Navy Acquisition Contracting Officer at the Defense Contract Administration Services Management Area office in Philadelphia. After receiving his commission upon graduation from the NROTC unit of Villanova University, Commander Ondik started his active duty career in the Navy’s flight training program, and then attended Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, GA, where he was a company Commanding Officer.

In addition to his current reserve assignment, Commander Ondik has been the Executive Officer of Navy Region Contracting Center Naples Italy detachment Philadelphia and of Fleet Industrial Support Center Philadelphia.

In his civilian career, Commander Ondik is a program and project manager with Defense Solutions providing strategy and operations support to organizations. He is also an Executive in Residence at The Science Center in Philadelphia, where he mentors entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. Previously, he was Vice President of Military Services, leading a start-up venture for Aramark Corporation, headquartered in Philadelphia. He also served as Vice President of Business Development for Aramark’s Food and Support Services Group. Prior to that, he was the National Director of Purchasing for KPMG. He has worked as a consulting manager for KPMG and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, where he was also Director of Marketing and Business Development for the Philadelphia consulting practice. Commander Ondik also worked as a business consultant for the Wharton Small Business Development Center, assisting small business owners and entrepreneurs to improve their businesses and teaching seminars in strategic planning, marketing, and financial management.

His personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal with one star, Navy Commendation Medal with one star, Joint Service Achievement Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal, as well as various unit meritorious awards.
