BTR-3E1 ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIERS
The BTR-3E1 armored personnel carrier (APC) is intended to transport mechanized infantry and to provide fire support in combat. It can be used as a basic vehicle for equipping quick reaction forces and marine units. The APC can operate day and night, in various climatic conditions, on hard surface roads, cross-country, and in an NBC environment. The operating temperature range of the APC is -40 to +130°F.
VEHICLE CONFIGURATION
The BTR-3E1 has three basic compartments:
- the front compartment (driving compartment)
- the middle compartment (fighting and troop compartments)
- the rear compartment (power pack compartment)
This layout makes it possible to adapt the fighting and troop compartments for various applications without changing the layout of the power pack and transmission.
The carrying capacity of the APC’s chassis makes it possible, not only to provide multiple vehicle configurations, but also to install additional armor protection against small-caliber automatic weapons.
The BTR-3E1 is available in the following configurations:

- BRM-3E1 combat reconnaissance vehicle
- Repair and Recovery vehicle
- MOP-3E1 fire support vehicle
- BTR-3E1Sh command and staff vehicle
- BSEM-3E1 armored ambulance, etc.
