Defense Solutions has the capability to repair, rebuild, test, adjust and regulate primary component parts for armored vehicles utilizing our specialized equipment and test stands.

General Overhaul of Engines

  • Fit engines with new pistons, piston rings and cylinder liners
  • Replace plungers, cylinders and the delivery valves of the high-pressure fuel pump and the injector headpieces
  • Valves and valve seats grinding
  • Honing of cylinder liners
  • Crack detection, balancing of the crankshaft, grinding of the crankshaft pins
  • Boring of the main bearings and of the connecting rods bearings
  • Control and repair of the tightness of the oil and cooling system of the cylinder blocks,
  • Repair and testing on special test benches of the engines accessories (water pump, oil pump, fuel supply pump, etc.)
  • Repair, testing and regulation of the high pressure fuel pump on special test stand,
  • Testing and running-in of the overhauled engine on SCHENK-type water brake test bed.

Repair of Transmission Units
Defense Solutions is capable of manufacturing every part of all transmission units of the tank.  We also recycle parts that can be repaired (e.g.: fitting the road wheels with new rubber bandage).  Reclamation is performed using approved technologies including deposit welding, electroplating techniques, metallization, sintering and machining, together with the use of plastics and composite materials. The testing, running-in and regulation of each repaired intermediate gear box, main clutch, gear box, steering mechanism and final drive is performed on special test benches designed and manufactured by Defense Solutions.

Repair of Tank Armament
The repair of the armament consists of the dismounting, repair, testing and regulation of the main gun, the parallel machine gun and, if fitted, the anti-aircraft machine gun.  The repair of the gun stabilizer system consists of the dismounting repair of all mechanical, hydraulic, electronic and electrical parts of the system, followed by their testing, control and regulation on special test stand designed and manufactured by Defense Solutions.

Optics
Repair of day and night sights and observation instruments. In the repair process, Defense Solutions can replace each worn, gloomy or cracked element of the optical system (e.g. lenses, protecting casings, prisms).  Defense Solutions can replace the electro-optical parts of the night vision instruments and repair the high voltage supply units. The control and adjustment of the repaired units is performed on special collimators.

NBC and Fire Suppression
The operation of the NBC protection system is analyzed on a special test bench.  Similarly, the operation of the fire suppression system is evaluated on a special test bench.  Both test benches were designed and manufactured by Defense Solutions.  Defense Solutions also services and calibrates fire extinguisher cylinders and high-pressure starter air cylinders.  The fire extinguisher filler unit was developed and manufactured by Defense Solutions.

Upholstery Workshop 
The upholstery workshop manufactures various tarpaulins, ceilings, protective covers, seats, cushions, fastening belts, etc.

Electrical Equipment

  • Repair of electrical units
  • Repair of starter motors, generators, electrical motors, their testing and regulation on specialized test stands
  • Repair of electrical instruments, switchboards, instrument panels
  •  Replacement of all cable harnesses with new ones
  •  Repair of transceivers and intercom systems.  Repair, testing and regulation are performed using specialized test stands designed and built by Defense Solutions specialists.  As the original calibration method for radio frequencies was inaccurate and difficult to perform, Defense Solutions engineers developed a digital frequency-calibrating unit, that replaced the original unit and simplified the frequency calibration and setting, improving the reliability of the radio communication.

Spare Parts
The current product range consists of about 2,000 spare parts for tanks, trucks and cars, including shafts, cylindrical gears, wheels, discs, rollers, pins, etc.  Defense Solutions is capable of meeting specialized requirements in the manufacturing of new items.
