When a retiring US Army officer, a former Infantry Brigade commander, formed Defense Solutions to work Army transformation, the corporate philosophy became "to find the world's best solutions and introduce them to the US Armed Forces." The belief is that if America puts a soldier in harm's way, we want to give that soldier the ability to accomplish his or her mission with minimum cost and risk of injury or death. We do not care who develops or produces the technology. If it's the best in the world, we want American soldiers to have it.

As ground combat in Iraq entered its second year in 2005, coalition forces called Defense Solutions to supply armored vehicles to the newly reconstituted Army of Iraq. Under contract to the Multi-National Security Transition Command, NATO, and the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, Defense Solutions delivered two battalions of refurbished T-72 Main Battle Tanks and other combat vehicles on budget and ahead of schedule. The commanding general of the receiving unit declared the Defense Solutions modernized tanks the "best equipment ever owned by the Iraqi Army."
